Chateau Maucoil is a highly respected wine estate with a storied history located in the famous Chateauneuf du Pape appellation in the Rhone Valley. The estate has a rich history dating back to the Roman Empire when the site was planted with vineyards for Caesar’s legions and colonists.
Today, Chateau Maucoil produces a range of red and white wines from their 45 hectares of vines farmed using organic and sustainable farming practices with minimal intervention to protect and capture the true essence of the terroir. Their wines are known for their rich, intense flavours with notes of black fruits and spice.
This Organic Cotes du Rhone is made from select, hand-harvested grapes grown close to the Chateauneuf du Pape vineyards as these older vines lend a wealth of character.
Eye: Strong ruby red
Nose: Deep blackberry and plum aromas
Mouth: Medium to strong body, this rich red has great length whilst retaining complexity and good structure.
Cépage: 50% Grenache 25% Syrah 25% Carignan
ABV: 14.5%
