Through organic viticulture and improved farming techniques, Château Puynard is dedicated to crafting wine from the right bank of Bordeaux that reflect the vineyards in which they are grown. Château Puynard focus predominantly on Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, two grapes that reveal the unique geography and geology of the Right Bank – of clay and limestone.
Château Puynard has had a seven-generation history of winemaking and this responsibility now rests with Andrew and Naomi Eakin who have pledged to carry on this legacy with a commitment to the environment. “Since November 2017 we committed to achieving organic certification which we were granted in 2020. Now we are a certified Organic vineyard by Ecocert and all our wines are organically produced. Our goal will continue to be to grow the healthiest grapes the land will give us, in order to create the best wines we can that speak of the Blaye region”.
Dressed with a shiny reflection of rose petals, this 2021 rosé is characterised by a very expressive nose of aromas of strawberry, white peach and floral scents. The mouth displays a nice roundness on the attack, powerful aromas of English sweets and strawberry, a creamy texture and a fresh, straight and vigorous finish. A delightful versatile rosé that can be enjoyed as an aperitif, or go very well with a cold buffet, Mediterranean, Asian or Oriental cuisine as well as grilled meats.
